Taking care of your orchid plants might sound difficult at first but it is really easy once you learn how to grow the properly. Indoor orchid plants come in so many different colors, like purple, white, lime and pink and other interesting colors, depending on the variety.
WATERING
Orchids need little water only when they dry out, overwatering may lead to rot.
Check the roots or Pick up the potted orchid and see if it feels light, this means that it probably needs some water. If the roots are gray, then it definitely needs some more water.
If you see that the roots are turning black or brown then it’s a sign for overwatering.
DO NOT WATER WITH ICE CUBES. Orchids are tropical species and do not like the direct chill of an ice cube.
LIGHTING
Orchids love light but they do not like DIRECT lighting especially in the summer time. You can place them at a south or east facing window. Keep them away from cold draft and heating vents.Â
